Impact: The Fab Four

I bet that you’re interested in making a difference and having an impact.

Me too. And my clients.

We work together to create workshops that make a difference. Have an impact.

And I can’t claim the credit.

What the….?!?!

Talk about an own goal.

Marketing gurus would tell me to take the credit.

But in the workshops I facilitate, the group is responsible for the impact.

That impact is usually one of the fab four below, or a combination of them.

  1. Sharper clarity. A clear-eyed focus on what matters most. Getting to the heart of the matter.

  2. Deeper alignment – to purpose and each other – in partnerships and teams.

  3. Informed decisions. Ones that have been considered from multiple perspectives. Turned inside out and upside down to test if they will stick.

  4. Increased trust that comes from working together.

The groups achieve these impacts.

I’m their process guide.

That means I draw out a group’s best thinking. I don’t do the thinking for them.

I’m there to help them achieve their purpose.

This is not self-deprecation or false humility. It’s the definition of facilitation.

Facilitation is the process for guiding a group to work effectively together to achieve its purpose.

My contribution is valuable.

So valuable in fact, that without me, a group risks not achieving it’s potential.

Yet, it is their achievement.

As the guide, I give them the map. I know the terrain.

They take the steps towards making a difference and having an impact.

Thanks for reading this far.

Stay (fl)awesome!
